The national Portrait Awards are proud to be supporting a host of national Charities which generate funds to help them with their amazing work. From children’s hospices to support for bereaved families as well as charities looking out for our nation’s pets.
The Children’s portrait awards raise money for two charities including The Lullaby Trust and Chas – Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.
The Lullaby Trust raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offers emotional support for bereaved families.

For over 20 years, CHAS – Children’s Hospices Across Scotland has been offering full family support services for babies, children’s and young children with life shortening conditions. The Family Portrait Awards raise money for CRY – Cardiac Risk in the Young who this year are celebration their 25th anniversary have been working to reduce frequency of young sudden death (YSCD). Cry also supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening Cardiac conditions as well as bereavement support for families affected by YSCD.

The Pet Portrait Awards has in previous years supported DogsTrust and Guide Dogs for the Blind Association while photographing Dogs for the awards. The National Portrait Awards are thrilled to launch the 2020 awards with the addition of the wonderful charity, Blue Cross for pets. This has allowed The Awards to open up their pet category to include all domesticated pets including, cats, rabbits, horses, hamsters and many more!
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association helps over two million people living with sight loss live the life they choose. Founded in 1934, they are a charity almost entirely dependent on donations, so The National Portrait Awards are proud to be able to help generate funds to help the wonderful and life changing work they do.
DogsTrust was founded in 1891 and is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Their mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the treat of unnecessary destruction.
